Sun Drop diamond sells for record amount at Swiss auction

A huge yellow diamond, the Sun Drop, has sold for SFr11.28 million at auction in Geneva, a world record for a gem of this kind. It’s the world's largest pear-shaped fancy vivid yellow diamond, weighing 110 carats. It was the top lot at Sotheby's semi-annual jewellery sale. (SF/swissinfo.ch)
