Schnyder and Wawrinka out
Swiss tennis players Stanislas Wawrinka and Patty Schnyder have both crashed out of the Australian Open in the second round.
Schnyder, Switzerland’s top-ranked female competitor and 15th seed, lost to Australia’s Casey Dellacqua 4-6, 7-5, 8-6. Dellacqua moved into the top 100 for the first time in 2007.
Wawrinka, the Swiss number two behind Roger Federer, retired from a match with French player, Marc Gicquel, after sustaining a groin injury.
World number one Federer has beaten France’s Fabrice Santoro and is through to the third round.
