World number two Roger Federer destroyed Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic in straight sets (6-3, 6-3, 6-2) and faces Russia's Igor Andreev on Tuesday.

Federer, who lost his top ranking to Rafael Nadal earlier this month, still has to win a Grand Slam tournament this year.

His Swiss compatriot, Stanislas Wawrinka, is due to play Andy Murray in the fourth round, while Patty Schnyder has qualified for the quarterfinal in the women's tournament.

She beat Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday.
