The company is doubling capacity at its Chinese production site in Heshan City and is also opening a new factory in the Philippines.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the group said it would invest around SFr12.1 million ($7.5 million) in the Heshan City site. The number of employees will rise from 150 to 235.

Heshan Kitchen Equipment produces kitchens for use by fast food chains.

A similar operation will open in March at Makati in the Philippines. Set-up costs have been put at SFr3 million.

The company statement said that the strong growth in demand in the region had made expansion necessary.
