Swiss football coach names assistant but not team

Switzerland's new national football coach, Enzo Trossero, has named Martin Brunner as his assistant. The 36-year-old former Swiss goalkeeper is to keep his current training positions at the Football Association and at Young Boys Berne.
During his time in goal, playing at club level for Grasshoppers Zurich and Lausanne, Brunner won five Swiss championship medals and seven Swiss Cup finals. He has already served as assistant coach to the national side during the brief interim management of Hans-Peter Zaugg.
Brunner’s appointment was the only announcement made by Trossero on Monday, a day on which the national coach had been expected to name a squad for his first training session later this month. Trossero said he had not managed to contact all the Swiss international players based abroad, and would therefore be publishing his list on Tuesday instead.
