Austria's Michaela Dorfmeister, who is the reigning world champion in the giant slalom, won her second race this season, after her impressive performance in Aspen, Colorado.

Sonja Nef, who is from canton Appenzell was not able to improve on her third place in the second run. Her 1.09 second gap behind the leader, Dorfmeister, proved to be insurmountable in the end.

Her compatriot, Corinne Rey-Bellet, also put on a good show. She powered through the finishing line in ninth place in what is her best giant slalom result this season.
