Zug leapfrog Ambri for ice hockey top spot
Zug have overtaken Ambri in the national ice hockey league standings, thanks to a 4-3 win over Lugano.
Friday evening’s victory puts Zug at the top of the table. Like Ambri, they now have 14 points, but Zug have played one less match.
Ambri, for their part, put on a dismal performance. The Ticino side were crushed 1-4 by fourth-ranked Davos.
In other matches, Zurich Lions managed a 2-1 win over Langnau while Chur suffered a 0-5 defeat at the hands of Rapperswil, and Berne held Fribourg to a 2-2 draw.
Chur and La Chaux-de-Fonds stand 11th and 12th overall with four points each to their name.
