Ammann edged out of ski jump win
Robert Kranjec of Slovenia won the World Cup ski jumping event in Bad Mitterndorf in Austria on Saturday, just pipping Swiss Olympic champion Simon Ammann.
Kranjec had jumps of 195 and 200 metres and gained 382.5 points to win over Ammann, who led after the first jump, by just 0.5 points.
Martin Koch of Austria finished third with 397.2 points.
Ammann has now stretched his lead in the World Cup standings with 749 points.
His rival from Austria, Gregor Schlierenzauer, who finished fifth, is second with 696. Andreas Kofler of Austria, who won the Four Hills tour earlier this week, is third with 561 points.
Another World Cup ski jumping competition is scheduled for Sunday.
