Hingis postpones Comeback
Swiss tennis star, Martina Hingis, has cancelled three more tournaments due to the surgery on her foot she underwent almost two months ago.
The WTA announced on Saturday that Hingis has been forced to withdraw from the Acur Classic in San Diego, the JP Morgan Chase Open in Los Angeles as well as the Rogers AT&T Canada Cup in Montreal.
Representatives of the former world number one also indicated that she would not submit an application to play in the US Open in New York.
Hingis underwent surgery on May 20 in Zurich to repair ligaments of her left ankle and according to her representatives her rehabilitation process is going well.
In 2001 Hingis reached the semi-finals of San Diega and Los Angeles and had to cancel the Toronto tournament due to a left foot stress fracture that she sustained in San Diego.
