
Archaeologists uncover evidence of past punishment
In Bern executions on the gallows took place until the early 19th century. For a long time the unholy ground remained untouched. Today - as private homes are about to be built on one of Bern's two gallows sites - the archaeological service is uncovering this dark chapter of the town's history. (Michele Andina, swissinfo.ch)
