Switzerland has condemned a suicide attack on a mosque in Sri Lanka that left 15 people dead and dozens more injured.

A foreign ministry statement on Wednesday said the attack in Akuressa, in southern Sri Lanka, during a Muslim celebration on Tuesday was “particularly odious”.
“Switzerland strongly condemns this terrorist attack and all the indiscriminate attacks that severely affect the population of Sri Lanka,” noted the ministry, also expressing a hope that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
The ministry reiterated its earlier call for international humans rights to be respected in the South Asian country.
