Around 1,000 American expatriates of all ages and political leanings are expected tonight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Geneva for the US Presidential Election Night Party – Switzerland’s biggest bipartisan event.

The party, organised every four years by the American International Club, kicked off with a VIP reception.  Live CNN, music, games, drinks and a fashion show have been laid on help election junkies through the night.

“There’s lots of excitement here tonight,” says Kirsten Stormstad, executive director of the American International Club of Geneva, who is
donning her patriotic best.

However, true to her Swiss roots, Stormstad said she can’t say who she’s rooting for.

“I’m neutral,” she insists.
