The last private bank in St Gallen
Switzerland’s oldest private bank, Wegelin, closed earlier this year after being indicted for selling tax-evasion services to wealthy Americans. The Vadian Bank is now the only remaining private bank in St Gallen, but it’s quite different from Wegelin. It’s owned by a local citizens’ association and has a tax-compliant strategy.
