Unaxis buys Nimbus
The technology group, Unaxis, announced on Wednesday that it had bought the British company, Nimbus Technology and Engineering, for an undisclosed sum.
NTE is a leading provider of laser mastering technology to the data storage industry. The process is used for the production of CDs and DVDs.
The company had annual sales of SFr40 million ($22.4 million) last year. Unaxis said in a statement that the purchase fits its strategy of being a leading solution provider, particularly in the field of re-writable media.
NTE will be renamed Unaxis Nimbus and will be a wholly owned subsidiary within the Unaxis Data Storage Division.
