Michael von der Heide: Lido
Electro / Pop / Chanson. For fifteen years Michael von der Heide has been thriving on the Swiss pop scene. Lido, his first all-French album, is largely pepped up with Gallic-style 80's electro beats. Throughout, this boyish vocalist wryly sings about his lost adolescence. The famous Parisian vaudeville, after which the album was entitled, serves thereby as perfect source of inspiration for nostalgic fantasies. Thus, the sometimes overblown, kitschy sounds favourably contrast with pure tunes and even nonchalant swinging numbers.
