MUSIC: Lucerne Festival at Easter

Lucerne, March 19 – 28, 2010
The Lucerne Festival at Easter opens with Claudio Abbado conducting the Sinfónica de la Juventud Venezolana, the unique South American youth orchestra. Easter would be unthinkable without the Concentus Musicus Wien and Nikolaus Harnoncourt, with unusual works by Ludwig van Beethoven. The colourful early music concerts promise to be a veritable feast for curiosity seekers with Cecilia Bartoli, the Freiburg Barock Consort, and The King’s Consort from London in a performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion.
