Switzerland joins three-minute silence across Europe

Switzerland is joining countries across Europe at 12 noon CET in observing a three-minute silence to remember the victims of Tuesday's terrorist attacks in the United States.

The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation is also observing the silence on its national radio and television networks. swissinfo’s sister broadcaster, Swiss Radio International, interrupted its transmissions briefly at midday to mark the occasion.

Staff at the United Nations in Geneva are planning a silent march through the city in solidarity for the victims of the attacks at midday.
