Lions’ ice hockey rivals narrow their lead
Davos and Ambri-Piotta have closed Zurich Lions' lead in the premier ice hockey division. After Saturday night's matches, the Lions are now three points clear of their second-placed rivals.
The Lions lost their match against Lugano 2-4, meaning their five-point lead was diminished. Davos and Ambri, however, both won their matches and now hold 25 points in the overall league table.
Davos beat Berne 4-2 while the Ticinese side’s match against Fribourg was more closely contested. Ambri ultimately won 4-3.
In other matches, Rapperswil scored a convincing victory over league stragglers, La Chaux-de-Fonds, winning 5-2. Kloten beat Chur 5-3 while Zug beat Langnau Tigers 5-3.
