Hundreds of small Swiss ski stations at medium altitudes have been having a hard time lately, among them Visperterminen in canton Valais. The resort had to update its facilities five years ago, but with less snow and fewer skiers, the lift company could not repay its debts. Then the locals came up with a plan to save the station. Born in the UK, I studied law at Nottingham University, then went on to attend the first-ever post-graduate radio journalism college in London.
