Record ski jumper extends career
Four-time Olympic ski jump champion Simon Ammann has decided to continue his career.
Ammann, who will be 30 in June, is one of the stars of the Swiss ski squad. He is known for not looking too far into the future, but said the fire was still burning.
“I feel ready – also to face the tricky parts of life as a top athlete,” he said. “Being a professional ski jumper still gives me a lot of pleasure.”
Ammann is the only ski jumper to win four individual Olympic golds – two in Salt Lake City in 2002 and another two in Vancouver in 2010. He has won more gold medals than any other Swiss winter Olympian.
