Luana is a female rapper-singer from Basel and belongs to Switzerland's foremost hip-hop pioneers.

Luana debuted 1990 on the first Swiss rap CD-compilation Fresh Stuff. Since she has preferably used to rap and sing in English. Six years later she released her first own album SerioSistas. It featured such international eminences as Afrika Bambaataa and Cora E.

Luana became member of the Zulu Nation movement, a social organization founded by New York hip-hop artists around Afrika Bambaataa. There she held the rank of a Zulu Queen, which is reserved for an elect number of outstanding musicians.

After a turbulent initial phase Luana reinvented herself as Chéjah and stepped into the field of rap-flavoured R&B.
