Currying flavour at 3,550m

In addition to being the Top of Europe, Jungfraujoch is also the highest workplace on the continent. At Restaurant Bollywood, a multicultural team caters to its many Indian guests.

The employees have a 70-minute ride up to their workplace at 3,550 meters above sea level. Restaurant Bollywood’s international staff, including Indian chefs, serves an average of 1,000 guests per day. Indian tour groups go to the self-service buffet at half-hour intervals. The guests don’t care about the fog; they know Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from the backdrops of Bollywood films. The main thing is that there’s snow that they can touch. Visitors from India are an important segment for the Jungfrau cableways. Every year, 765,000 tourists head up to Jungfraujoch; 60 per cent of them are from Asia.
