Two people die in accident in Sudety mountains on Polish-Czech border
WARSAW (Reuters) – Two people died after falling off a ridge near Sniezka, the peak of the Sudety Mountains that stretch along Poland’s border with the Czech Republic, TVN24 broadcaster reported on Tuesday.
A rescue operation involving Polish and Czech workers was underway to find the third person who was probably involved in the accident, Edyta Bagrowska from the district police unit in Jelenia Gora told the broadcaster.
“Polish and Czech rescue services are working on the scene. We are still looking for a third person who was most likely also there,” she said.
The nationality of the hikers is not known yet, TVN24 said.
