Some 400 specialists simulated a nuclear disaster in the area around the Leibstadt power plant in canton Aargau on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ordinary people got involved to represent the general public in the emergency response run-through.

Nuclear power and how Switzerland would respond to an accident at a power plant have been real topics of debate since the catastrophe in Fukushima, Japan in 2011.

It’s led to a decision to decommission the controversial nuclear power plant in Mühleberg, canton Bern.
