Sales rise at Jelmoli
The Swiss retail and property group, Jelmoli, reports that sales rose six per cent over the first half of the year when compared to the first six months of 1999. Turnover for the Zurich-based group was SFr463.9 million.
“Given the robust consumer climate, the favourable market conditions will continue,” the company said in a statement. It expects sales to increase again in the second quarter.
The group, which owns Zurich’s biggest department store on the prestigious Bahnhofstrasse, added that its objective of increasing profitability by five to ten per cent during the first six months of the year had also been achieved.
