The Swiss are tops for computers

Four in every 10 Swiss now have a personal computer, making them among the most technologically advanced people in the world.

A survey released on Wednesday by a German economic institute showed that for every 100,000 people in Switzerland, 42,000 had PCs – the fourth highest rate in the world.

Top of the list was Luxembourg with 73,000 per 100,000 people. The United States and Singapore came just ahead of Switzerland.

Developing countries, as expected, have far fewer computers. Bottom of the list was Niger where only two people in every 1,000 have a PC.
