“Dream market” pleases Microsoft
The head of Microsoft Switzerland considers Switzerland a “dream market for any type of retailer”.
Petra Jenner, a German who has been in the job since October, said in an interview with Le Matin Dimanche newspaper she particularly liked the fact that Swiss customers quibbled less over price than in other countries.
“[In Switzerland] consumers are less focused on the price than their neighbours, and they like quality as well as innovation – irrespective of their income or age,” she said.
“It’s a very special situation. If the market was bigger, it would without a doubt be the best in the world.”
She added that despite its small size, the Swiss market was important for the US computer software giant. Of the 168 branches around the world, Switzerland is 14th in terms of turnover.
Microsoft Switzerland employs 550 people. Its headquarters are in Wallisellen, canton Zurich.
