DoubleDan: Prelude

What happens when a jazz musician and a whizz kid in electronic music put together in a studio project?

Jazz saxophone player Daniel Küffer and sound engeneer Daniel Wihler were kenn to find out and started collaboration on such a venture in 1998. DoubleDan – the two Daniels project – was born.

Based on original drum beats, Daniel Küffer wrote nine songs and invited various authors to write lyrics. Each song is a crossover combining elements of jazz, latin, ragga, soul, worldbeat, drums&bass and trip hop. So the musical journey that this recording presents is both exciting and surprising.

Thrilled by the unexpected, the listener will discover his own musical curiosity. A large number of musicians, mostly from the Swiss scene, contributed to the recordings from March-October 1998.

DoubleDan did their finalization by editing arranging and even recomposing the recording results.
