New multi-screen cinema complex opens in Geneva
A ten-screen suburban cinema complex has just opened its doors in Geneva - a first for Switzerland.
Geneva’s new “cine village” has opened this week at the Balexert shopping centre.
The ten-screen suburban cinema complex is a first for Switzerland — and the Australian entertainments giant, Village Roadshow, wants to build more of them.
It’s offering some of the comfort of old-fashioned movie going as well as the spectacular trappings of modern technology.
But there also fears that the 2,200-seat giant might force local cinemas out of business.
