By the time you’ll have heard this sentence, thousands of people around the world will have drunk a cup of Nescafé. A staggering 3,900 cups of Nescafé are drunk every second. Not only is it one of the major inventions of the twentieth century, it’s also a huge money-spinner for the Swiss multinational food giant, Nestlé. But just how did Nescafé get to become the world’s most popular brand of instant coffee? Well, as Swiss Radio International’s Robert Brookes found out, it all began in Brazil…
