Drones – innovation or threat to society?

The democratisation of drones has driven a number of amateurs to make their own flying objects – often equipped with cameras that create fantastic images but which raise privacy issues. Is more regulation needed for this booming activity?

US author Francis Fukuyama reckons that “if drones have already changed the nature of war, soon they’re going to drastically change our everyday life and force us to rethink the limits of our private lives”. Will this invasion of machines over our heads have a dramatic effect on our society?
