We have lived in Florida for over 20 years with two daughters, 17 and 10 years old. The situation regarding security in the USA has changed radically in the last few years. Not a week goes by without a mass shooting. The political climate is also dramatic. You can almost physically feel the aggression on the streets, in malls, everywhere. This is no longer the America I made my second home. We are planning to return to Switzerland either this summer or next year. The older daughter would like to take a bachelor's course in computer engineering or computer science at EFPL, but has reservations because she doesn't speak French yet. We are also concerned about the cost of rent, food, insurance, etc. My questions: does EFPL offer the Bachelor in English, and is there financial support available for living expenses during the studies?

Wir leben seit ueber 20 Jahren in Florida mit zwei Toechtern, 17 und 10 Jahre alt. Die Situation bezueglich Sicherheit in den USA hat sich in den letzen Jahren radikal veraendert. Keine Woche vergeht ohne eine Massen-Schiesserei. Das polistische Klima is ebenfalls dramatisch. Man kann die Agressionen fast physisch spueren auf den Strasse, in Malls, ueberall. Dies ist nich mehr das Ameria das ich zu meiner zweiten Heimat machte. Wir planen deshalb, entweder diesen Sommer oder naechstes Jahr in die Schweiz zurueckzukehren. Die aeltere Tochter wuerde gerne an der EFPL einen Bachelor Kurs in Computer Engineering oder Computer Science belegen, hat aber Bedenken, da sie noch nicht Franzoesisch spricht. Wir machen uns auch Gedanken ueber die Kosten wir Miete, Essen, Versicherung usw. Meine Fragen: biete EFPL den Bachelor auch in Englisch an, und ist finanzielle Unterstuetzung erhaeltlich fuer die Lebenskosten waehrend des Studiums?

We have been living abroad for almost 30 years and our daughter, who will pass her baccalaureate next year, has already decided on her higher studies (medical field).
From the Philippines where we live, it is quite complicated to figure out the future because there are still a lot of questions pending: cost of studies, obtaining scholarships, housing, insurance, etc.
We can't go to Switzerland this year to check out the different study possibilities and we try to find out by e-mail without always getting the right information. However, we are already planning to go with him next year to help him settle in.
Can you please advise us on the best way to proceed.

Nous vivons à l’étranger depuis bientôt 30 ans et notre fille, qui passera son baccalauréat l’année prochaine, est déjà au clair pour ses études supérieures (domaine médical).
Depuis les Philippines où nous vivons, c’est assez compliqué de se figurer l’avenir car il reste beaucoup de questions en suspens : coût des études, obtention de bourses d’études, logement, assurances, etc
Nous ne pouvons pas nous rendre en Suisse cette année pour faire le tour des différentes possibilités d’étude et nous essayons de nous débrouiller par e-mail sans obtenir toujours les bonnes informations. Par contre nous avons déjà prévu d’accompagner l’année prochaine pour l’aider à s’installer.
Pouvez-vous nous renseigner sur la meilleure façon de procéder.

You should first look carefully at what education your son wants to do. Depending on that, he needs different background. We will return to Switzerland in 2 months because our daughter and son want to do the Matura and therefore have greater chances than with a Matura degree in Thailand.
