Swisscargo, a unit of the SAir Group, has announced that it is ending its co-operation deal with Delta Air Cargo from February 29. The move is part of the decision late last year by Delta Airlines to cancel its alliance with SAir, Swissair's parent company.

SAir Group and Delta Airlines had been working together since 1998. The relationship came to an end when Delta began talks with Air France.

Swisscargo is now involved in intensive negotiations with AMR, a unit of American Airlines.

Ludwig Bertch, president and chief executive officer of Swisscargo, said a new deal between his group and AMR, would secure Swisscargo's service to clients on North American routes.
