An analysis analyses or explains an event. It answers the question why? EX: Why was the CO2 law rejected?

– 4000-6000 characters.

– Includes pic and short bio, as for op-ed: COMING SOON 

– Author has to have authority to provide input. Can be SWI expert on a topic. Can also quote experts.

– Has to be relevant, timely and balanced.

– Should be self-explanatory if not context and background have to be provided by the author or editor in the text.

– Analysis should be in teaser and lead.

– It can be written by a SWI journalist that has relevant expertise on a topic.
