Dutch firm tight lipped about Adecco deal
The Dutch temporary employment agency, Vedior, has refused to comment on reports that it is in talks to sell its European activities to Switzerland's Adecco group.
Reacting to reports in the Netherlands’ newspaper, “Het Financieele Dagblad”, Vedior’s head of corporate communications, John Nurthen, said: “We never said which parts we considered to sell or which parties we talked with.”
Het Financieele Dagblad reported on Monday that Vedior had held talks with several parties, including Adecco, about the sale of its Vedior Europe division.
The newspaper quoted Adecco chairman, John Bowmer, as saying: “We could not close a deal…Vedior asked too much.”
Adecco, the world’s largest temporary employment agency, was not immediately available for comment.
Vedior, the world’s number three temp agency, announced a strategic review in August last year, when Tony Martin became chief executive.
