Race for Swisscom’s broadcast services unit hots up
Four companies are now in the running to buy Swisscom's broadcast services unit, according to reports in the Aargauer Zeitung.
Swisscom has already confirmed that it is in negotiations with the British-based company, NTL. The newspaper says that Crown Castle International, France Telecom and a Swiss consortium have also expressed an interest.
A Swisscom spokeswoman told swissinfo that talks were continuing with several companies but declined to give further details.
NTL already owns Cablecom, Switzerland’s largest cable operator.
Swisscom’s broadcast services unit employs 200 people and has annual sales of SFr174 million ($97.5 million).
