Swissair wins prestigious quality award
Swissair has won a prestigious quality award for the fifth year running.
The national flag carrier was presented with the World Travel Award for Europe’s leading airline, an honour it has enjoyed for the past five years.
It also won the World’s leading Economy Class award at a prize-giving ceremony in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
“These important awards reflect the first-rate standard of quality that our customers around the world enjoy,” said Lee Shave, Swissair’s head of Sales and Marketing.
He went on to add that the awards also motivate Swissair to maintain its product quality at the highest level and to actively pursue its current process of improvement.
More than 25,000 travel agencies took part in the voting to recognise companies who offer the best in standards and quality in the travel industry.
The awards could not have come at a better time for Swissair, with its parent company, SairGroup, barely spending a day out of the headlines due to an earlier management crisis and poor set of financial results.
