Democracy crash course: time for a quiz!

After learning so much from the newsletters, it’s now time for a quiz.

Studied history and politics at University of Bern. Worked at Reuters, the newspapers Der Bund and Berner Zeitung, and the Förderband radio station. I am concerned with the Swiss practice of modern direct democracy in all its aspects and at all levels, my constant focus being the citizen.

A former nurse, she decided to go back to university to study English and Media studies at University of Basel. There she discovered her love for research and writing and a keen interest in journalism and news in the digital age. Joined SWI swissinfo.ch in 2020 to work with the Social Media and community engagement team.

The quiz contains general questions on the course content, as well as open questions that you’re welcome (but not obliged) to answer. If we may, we’d very much like to use anonymous quotes from these answers and share some of them on our interactive webpage.

Should raw milk sales be banned or should consumers decide?

Swiss food regulations do not allow raw milk to be sold for direct consumption. However, a loophole allows 400 raw milk vending machines to do just that.
