Expat magazine faces budget cut
The foreign ministry has reduced the annual budget of the Swiss Review as part of a savings programme.
The bimonthly magazine is distributed free worldwide to the estimated 670,000 registered Swiss abroad.
The budget is to be cut by 28 per cent to SFr1.3 million ($1.24 million) next year.
The Organisation of the Swiss Abroad (OSA) said it would to have to reduce the number of editions to four from the present six.
The foreign ministry said it would continue to support the information of Swiss expatriates and was seeking ways of promoting services via the internet.
The Swiss Review is published in German, French, Italian, English and Spanish in 20 regional editions.
It provides Swiss abroad with information on political issues, including nationwide votes and referendums.
