Max Lässer und das Überlandorchester: Iigschneit (Snowed Under)
Swiss Ethno-Folk. Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Max Lässer belongs to Switzerland's notables in the field of crossover folk music. On occasion of the national Expo.02, Lässer debuted with his Überlandorchester, an eleven-piece ensemble, which consisted of pioneers from the new Swiss folk music movement. The resulting blend of sacral alphorn calls, upbeat accordion wizardry and standard folk rock gained such public success, that Lässer decided to continue this exclusive project. With Iigschneit (Snowed Under) the Überlandorchester releases its second album. Again it displays a confluence of intricate alpine styles and solid, urban grooves. Furthermore, numerous meditative pieces evoke wide mountain sceneries.
