New 24-hour business channel planned
Roger Schawinski's Belcom group is planning the launch of a new television channel offering financial news around the clock.
The new channel, the first of its kind in Switzerland, is to be called “Money 24”, and will cover market news from all over the world.
The channel will also be available on the Internet.
Schawinski already controls two private television channels called Tele 24 and Tele Zuri.
He said the success of his “Money and Money Talk” programmes showed there was a demand for a channel devoted to financial news.
Schawinski controls 56 per cent of Belcom, with 40 per cent in the hands of Credit Suisse First Boston.
