Straight-ahead / Bop. Peter Eigenmann from St. Gall, Eastern Switzerland, is a compelling bop guitarist now in his late fifties. At first an autodidact he refined his chops during a period when he lived in the US. Back home he has become a respected name ever since, especially with the quintet he co-led with US trumpet ace Benny Bailey. Behind You displays wonderfully Eigenmann's abilities both as a lyricist and cooking player. And with bassist Ingmar Heller and drummer Peter Schmidlin he truly has a tight, swinging tandem on his disposal.
