A hot summer’s impact on forests

Summer 2018 was hot and dry – with serious consequences for forests. In the Hardwald forest in northern Switzerland, you can see that many trees have died or will need cutting down. Since hot summers are set to become even more common in future, scientists are carrying out research to find out which tree species stand a better chance of survival. (SRF/swissinfo.ch)
