Green Alliance

The Green Alliance was founded in 1987 by members of left-wing and environmental groups as well as militant unions. Its supporters lie mainly in and around Bern and the town of Biel and it has local and cantonal representation in Bern.

In 1995 it won its first seat in the House of Representatives. In 2003 it gained a second seat with the help of another small green party, the Green Free List.
