A bomb discovered by divers in Lake Constance at the end of August has been made safe by army experts, St Gallen cantonal police said on Thursday.

Specialists from the explosive ordnance disposal unit removed the detonator of the bomb which is lying on the bed of the lake near the village of Staad, close to the Austrian border.
It will be removed on Friday, and destroyed at an army firing range.
Although there had at no time been any danger to the public, an area of 50 meters around the site had been declared off limits as soon as the bomb was found.
