The Swiss Red Cross Society says it is sending 230 family tents to the Gaza Strip, which will be distributed to people made homeless by the Israel offensive.

In a statement, the Bern-based society said on Wednesday that the consignment would be air freighted to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, which would allocate them.
The Swiss national society is also sending an extra SFr160,000 ($141,212) to help in relief operations.
The aid is being co-financed by the Solidarity Chain, a charity led by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, swissinfo’s parent body.
Two weeks ago, the Red Cross Society released SFr200,000 to provide medical aid for Gaza hospitals.
