Shanghai show over for Heuberger

Heuberger lost his second round match in straight sets Keystone Archive

Swiss doubles specialist Ivo Heuberger was unable to pull off an upset against Germany's Rainer Schüttler in the second round of the ATP singles tournament in Shanghai.

Having got through the first round on Wednesday with only his fourth victory of the season, Heuberger (ATP 122) on Thursday fell in straight sets to the second seeded German (ATP 59).

Heuberger’s 3-6, 4-6 defeat means that Michel Kratochvil is the last Swiss player remaining in the singles draw at the $400,000 event.

The Swiss number two is due to face Holland’s Edwin Kempes in the quarter-finals on Friday.
