That’s according to a recent Reader’s Digest study, which polled more than 32,000 people in 16 European countries.

Of the 1,336 questioned in Switzerland, 94 per cent said they recycled, compared with 82 per cent of Europeans.

While 70 per cent of Europeans said they made a point of avoiding ecologically harmful products, 87 per cent of Swiss said so.

However, Swiss people appeared less concerned about the environment than other Europeans.

Asked, “Do you worry about the environment?”, 78 per cent of them said yes, compared with 82 per cent of their European counterparts.
