Pension and property on parliament agenda
A review of the state old age pension system is high on the agenda of the three-week spring session of parliament, which got underway on Monday.
The centre-left wants to facilitate early retirement for low-income earners to balance out a planned increase in the regular retirement age for women from 64 to 65.
However, centre-right and rightwing parties have come out against it.
The House of Representatives is also due to debate shoring up the invalidity benefit scheme, which has run up a huge deficit.
Other issues to be discussed by the House and the Senate include property sales to foreigners, health reforms, cannabis and measures against paedophiles.
The two chambers of the Swiss parliament normally meet four times a year for sessions in the capital, Bern.
