UBS targeted again by computer virus
Switzerland's biggest bank, UBS, says its customers have been targeted by a computer virus for the second time in just over a month.
The latest attack was again aimed at online banking software known as UBS Pin. UBS said the vast majority of its customers do not use that software and that no damage had been reported.
The new virus, like the one in August, replicates itself using Microsoft’s Outlook e-mail programme.
The virus is carried in an attachment to an e-mail message, which is spread as soon as the attachment is opened.
The bank said it was not clear who was responsible but it has initiated criminal proceedings against the unknown perpetrator.
